Home brewing competition prize – custom wood beer tap handles

Every year I sponsor the Reddit home brewing competition.  2016 was my third year and I offered up a custom tap handle to three winners.  The winners have no restrictions on their prize and I work with them to make their prize exactly like their vision.  This winner decided to have the Reddit home brewing logo on the top as well as some personal information and the name of the winning beer.

These handles are made from locally harvested cherry.  They were 6″ tall, 2.5″ at the top and about 1.125″ thick.  Multiple coats of urethane, finish sanding at 1500 grit and waxing make these handles incredibly smooth.
